CARACTERÍSTICAS
Kepel es un árbol frutal que produce los frutos en el tronco, no en la rama. Algunos dicen que esta característica indica que se trata de una especie muy antigua. Las flores de color rosa-crema crecen directamente en el tronco. La carne del fruto, de color naranja claro, es cremosa y de sabor picante como un mango.
USOS
Se cultiva ahora en Indonesia para su uso en la industria del perfume. La madera del árbol se utiliza en la construcción y para la fabricación de muebles, lo que podría explicar porque no crece silvestre en muchos lugares en Java.
USOS MEDICINALES
El Kepel ha sido empleado como un anticonceptivo, ya que hace a la mujer temporalmente infértil. La fruta también tiene propiedades diuréticas y previene cálculos renales.

CHARACTERISTICS
Kepel is a fruit tree that produces fruits on the trunk, not on the branch. Some say this means it is a very ancient species. It has pink-cream flowers which grow straight out of the trunk of the tree.The fruit’s flesh is of light orange color and is creamy. However it has a spicy flavor, like a mango.
USAGE
It is being cultivated now in Indonesia for the use in the perfume industry. It was once used as a wav of fragrance to the sweat and urine, the smell of violets. The wood of the tree is used in construction and making furniture, which might explain why it does not grow wild in many places in Java.
MEDICINAL USAGE
It was used as a contraceptive as it temporarily renders women infertile. The fruit also has diuretic properties and prevents kidney stones.
